Steer and heifer ear tag orders for the major shows need to be turned in to Albany High School ag teacher and FFA sponsor Chris Beard or to Shackelford County Extension Agent Kloey Painter by Friday, April 16.

Cost for steers is $20 with validations in June for fall 2021 and spring 2022 shows.

Heifer tags will cost $15 with summer validations also in June for fall 2021 and spring 2022 shows.

Fall heifer validation will be done in October for spring shows.

April 16 is also the deadline to turn in tag orders for swine, lambs, and goats for the State Fair of Texas and the Heart of Texas shows.

New this year is a rule stating that crossbred gilts showing at the State Fair of Texas and Heart of Texas must be tagged and validated.

Cost for all swine, lambs, and goats is $15. New tags will be ordered in September for the 2022 county and major shows with validations in October.
