The registration period for the annual summer Day Camp sponsored by ResourceCare is open online through until June 30.

The program will be held on July 10-14 and July 24-28 this year for Albany area residents.

ResourceCare is also looking for additional sponsors to help meet the cost of program, which also has a June 30 deadline.

“We’re taking sponsorships through the end of next week,” Resource Care’s Mindy Ary said. “The name of all sponsors will be printed on the back of the camp t-shirts, and the printing deadline is June 30.”

Anyone interested in helping sponsor the camp can contact ResourceCare at 325-762-2447 or mail checks to ResourceCare, Attn: Summer Day Camp, P.O. Box 2435, Albany, TX 76430.

Donations can also be delivered to the front desk at the local office.

Parents are asked to note that Day Camp is only two weeks this year instead of the usual three-week period, and there is an open week in between.

Parents needing to register children ages 3 through those entering sixth grade in the fall can find the link on Resource Care’s Facebook page, scan the QR code that accompanies this article, or email Ragan Riley at rriley@resourcecare.org.

Required paperwork will also need to be completed by a parent for children to attend, including permission and allegy forms, as well as prescription release forms for campers who need to be administered medications during camp hours.

Meals will be provided for campers at no charge; however, no outside food or drinks are allowed due to grant restrictions by the Summer Food Program grant that will cover the cost of the meals.

High school students who want to be considered for paid counselor positions must contact ResourceCare as soon as possible. Junior high students are also able to volunteer for non-paid positions.

The camp is funded in part by the Albany Chest, along with donations and fundraising events such as CareFest.

Donations are still being sought to help fund the camp.

Campers can be dropped off at the Albany Youth Center starting at 8:30 a.m. No campers will be accepted past 9:00 a.m. each day.
