Deadline moved up

With no Albany News scheduled for publication next week, readers and advertisers are reminded that all ads and news articles should be submitted the following week by Monday, Dec. 30 at 12:00 noon for the Jan. 2 issue of the paper.

Typically, the deadline is at 12:00 noon on Tuesdays, but because New Year’s Day falls on Wednesday, the staff plans to finish that issue earlier in order to comply with the print schedule.

“The main thing that’s driving this schedule is the printer,” said News editor Melinda Lucas. “They will not be working on New Year’s Day, so we have to upload our images on Tuesday by noon instead of Wednesday.” 

The paper will be printed on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and delivered that evening to newsstands. 

The online edition will be available on Wednesday as usual, but since the post office is also closed on Wednesday, the mailed copies will not be placed in boxes until the normal time on Thursday morning.  

Lucas stated that the News office will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.
