Shackelford County chief appraiser Clayton Snyder is officially extending the deadline to submit property renditions one full month to May 15, in light of the impact on local businesses by the coronavirus.

The renditions were originally due by April 15.

“Business owners have a lot on their plates right now, and finishing their renditions is not at the top of their priority list,” said Snyder. “In accordance with guidance from the Comptroller this week, I’ve decided to move the deadline back.”

Normally, taxpayers must submit a written request for the extension, but Snyder is lifting that requirement for this year only.

More information will be available at a later date.

For those who wish to go ahead and turn in their rendition statements, the appraisal district office door is locked during the business day because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but property owners can put their renditions or extension requests in the dropbox located to the left of the main doors.

As always, documents can be mailed to Shackelford County CAD, PO Box 2247, Albany TX 76430.
