The annual Membership Drive Crawfish Boil for the Albany Chamber of Commerce is set for next Thursday, April 6 in the parking lot in front of the depot.

The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with Chamber directors serving up heaps of crawfish boil, as well as fried fish and the trimmings.

“All Chamber members are invited,” Chamber manager Brandi Lehew said. “We hope to see everyone here and bring a friend and let them come see what the Chamber is all about, and maybe they will want to join.”

A check-in table will be set up in the parking lot at the Chamber office for anyone who wants to renew a membership or join.

Lehew said that drawings are also planned, but the specifics haven’t been worked out yet.

“We sent out membership letters a while back, but if people haven’t renewed yet, they can come on and take care of that when they get here,” she said.

Reservations are not required, but Lehew said it would be helpful for those planning to attend to call the Chamber office so she can get a rough head count.

For those who may not be big fans of “mudbugs,” there will also be fried fish and french fries, along with other sides.

The Happy Grill will be frying up onion rings again this year, and the Green Gypsy beverage trailer will provide iced tea and lemonade.

“I still have a few people who are wanting to help with the food, so we will see what they provide,” she said. “There should be plenty of food, so come enjoy and visit.”

Membership prices are $50 for a senior citizen or senior citizen family, $60 for an individual or a family, as well as $125, $150, or $175 for businesses, based on the number of employees. Corporate memberships are $300.

There are also $35 memberships for non-profit organizations.
