The Albany Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Membership Drive and Crawfish Boil at the Albany Golf Course next Thursday, April 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Chamber members, along with potential members, are encouraged to attend.

“All Chamber members are invited,” said Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones. “And if you’re not a member, you can come and join at the party.”

The Chamber will provide crawfish, fish, chicken, all the fixings for the meal, and water to drink. Other beverages can be brought by participants.

The family-friendly event also will include a bounce house for the children.

Attendees can eat at the crawfish tables or fix an individual pan and social distance if desired, with masks being optional.

“This is an appreciation dinner for current Chamber members,” said Jones. “If you’ve not paid your annual membership yet, you can pay there; we’ll be set up to take cash, cards, or checks. Come out and join us, and feel free to bring a friend who might want to join the Chamber.”

Jones stressed that Chamber memberships are open to individuals as well as businesses, and encouraged citizens to become members and volunteer for various Chamber events and activities.

“The decorations displayed in town on the various seasons are paid for and put up by Chamber volunteers,” said Jones. “We also need members to assist when we host community events.”

Membership cost for individuals and families is $60, retirees $50, and non-profit organizations $35.

Business membership cost is based on the number of employees with Level 1 (1-2 employees) costing $125, Level 2 (3-4 employees) $150, and Level 3 (over 5 employees) $175.

Large corporations, colleges, and universities can join the Chamber for $300.

The organization is open to everyone who wants to help keep Albany alive and prospering, according to Jones.

Membership applications can be found on the Albany Chamber of Commerce website at https://albanytexaschamberof commerce.com or by going to the Chamber office and signing up.
