The City of Moran Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class on Saturday, July 27, and the public is welcome to attend.

“The class will be open to anyone needing CPR certification or a refresher,” said Moran VFD secretary/treasurer Michelle Taggart. “The cost to the public will be $35 per person.”

The session, taught by Albany paramedic Tina Ulbrich, will be held at the Moran Independent School District’s Activities Building (directly across the street from the First Baptist Church) starting at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to last around four hours.

“We will have water available, but folks might want to bring a sack lunch,” said chief Steve Taggart. “Most of us will be taking the class to get certified or re-certified. CPR sure is a good thing to know and may enable you to save someone’s life!”

Pre-registration is not required.

“Anyone can just show up at 10:00 a.m., get registered, and take the class,” said the fire chief.
