County’s birthday to be celebrated

Area residents have the chance to celebrate the founding of Shackelford County a century and a half ago this weekend with a variety of events on tap.

The first piece of the commemorative puzzle is a Chamber of Commerce lunch set for noon Friday at the Albany golf course and ending on Saturday afternoon at the spot at the townsite of Fort Griffin with a flag raising ceremony.
