County youth show at San Antonio

County winners at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo last week included several family members, two of whom claimed second place ribbons in back-to-back swine classes on Monday, Feb. 17.
Callan Edgar’s Duroc barrow was selected as runner up in class 37 and Tatum Grady took second place in class 38, also with a Duroc barrow.
Carli Edgar was seventh with a dark cross barrow in Class 58.
Tye Edgar was 10th in class 100.
Also showing barrows at San Antonio last week were Colter Edgar, Ryan Turner, Tyler Beard, Tristan Edgar, and Ryleigh Waters.
Thousands of barrows are shown by Texas 4-H and FFA members at San Antonio, making it one of the largest market hog show in the nation, according to show officials. The top six pigs in each class qualified for the premium auction.
Steer Show
Local youth showing steers at San Antonio were Hattie Braly, Cade Neve, Kenzie Neve, J.T. Holland, and Gracie Price.
Youth Rodeo
16-18 Age Division
Addie Beth Denton qualified for the finals in goat tying at San Antonio on Thursday, Feb. 20, where she claimed eighth place with a 9.27 second run.
Also placing in the 16-18 division, but not qualifying for the finals were the following:
Barrel Racing - 50. Mady Connally 22.263 seconds, 57. Landree Connally 28.904 seconds.
Pole Bending - 21. Mady Connally, 26.655 seconds; 26. Landree Connally 28.904 seconds.
Denton entered but did not place in either the girls breakaway roping or the barrel race.
Lambs and Goats
Lamb and goat exhibitors included Brayden Sullivan, Conner Clark, Cache Clark, and Paisley Clark.
