A quorum of Albany city council members met with mayor Susan Montgomery in a very short regular meeting on Monday night, Jan. 9, taking care of a couple of routine agenda items in less than 15 minutes.

Albany chief of police Mike House reviewed the annual facial profiling report, which was in compliance with state standards.

The report is required to be submitted every year.

City manager Billy Holson presented a list of current committee members for five boards that fall under the council’s jurisdiction, including the Economic Development Corporation (A and B boards), Hotel/Motel Board, Golf Course Board, Senior Citizens Board, and Aztec Board.

Holson’s recommendation that the committee members be approved for the upcoming year passed unanimously on a motion by Chris Beard, seconded by Don Taggart.

“I’m pleased with all these boards,” said Holson. “They all do a good job of handling city funds.”

Holson also pointed out in the monthly financial report that the city is “in very good shape for this time of year,” mainly due to about $800,000 in various types of donations.

Fiscal year-end for the city is March 31.
