Cotter awarded Paup scholarship

Albany High School graduate Sarah Cotter has been awarded the Nancy and Ted Paup Big  Country Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship. This scholarship fund is managed by the Community  Foundation of Abilene.

This scholarship goes to an Albany student who is in the top 25 percent of his/her class and  participated in varsity athletics.

Cotter will attend Texas A&M University in the fall and plans to study Business.

Cotter is the AHS Student Body President, Student Council member, and National Honor Society  Member. Throughout high school, she has been involved in volleyball, tennis, track, basketball,  cheerleading, the Lion’s Roar school newspaper, UIL writing, UIL mathematics, and more.

This scholarship was established several years ago by Nancy and Ted Paup, who love Shackelford County and the Albany community and are passionate about supporting educational opportunities for Albany students.
