The annual citywide garage sale is set for Saturday, Sept. 10, with about 20 local individuals signed up as of Tuesday.

A few more local residents may have signed up for the event on Wednesday after the press deadline.

“We have had a few people inquire about the sale who haven’t shown up yet,” Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones said. “The deadline to sign up was Wednesday.”

With the event sponsored by the Albany Chamber of Commerce, shoppers can pick up a map showing the locations of participants at the Chamber office located in the Depot building on Main Street starting Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m.

“The maps are free, and I will be in and out at the depot from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.,” Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones said. “I will leave the extra copies outside the Chamber door if someone needs one when I’m not there.”

Participants paid a registration fee that covers the cost of printing the maps and providing a sign to designate each location. Signs will be ready for participants to pick up at the depot starting Thursday (today).

Jones reminded shoppers that the Chamber will not be open prior to 7:00 a.m., and maps will not be available on Friday for early bird shoppers.
