Members of the Albany Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual community-wide Easter egg hunt at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Webb Park Complex, with all Albany children and their guests invited to hunt for treats hidden by the AVFD members.

Children will be divided into four various age groups before the hunt starts at 3:00 p.m.

“We will be sectioning off Webb Park again this year,” Fire Chief Kyle Tischler said. “We ask that everyone please meet at the pool entrance before finding your age group. I promise we will make sure all the kids are ready before we start as long as they are there before 3:00 p.m.”

This is the 18th year for the community egg hunt and the seventh year that it has been staged at Webb Park. Previously the event had been held at Spudder Park.

One change for this year is the VFD members will not be spending hours stuffing the plastic eggs.

“We purchased 5,000 filled eggs from a company called Sunny Bunny Easter Eggs,” said the fire chief. “They are a program of SWI Industrial Solutions in Missouri and have been providing meaningful employment to people with disabilities since 1966. It not only helps someone out with a job, but the cost is much cheaper than when we bought the eggs and candy and then assembled them ourselves.”
