Commodities to be handed out this Thursday, Friday

The monthly pick-up dates for the September distribution of the commodity food program is set for Sept. 2 (today) in Moran, and Friday, Sept. 3 in Albany.

The food goods will be handed out at the Moran City Hall from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

The pick-up time for Albany families is set for Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. at the back carport area of the Shackelford County JP office.

Only individuals and families that have been previously certified can participate.

Recipients who are unable to go themselves can send a signed and dated note with someone to pick up their commodities.

“Anyone who doesn’t pick up will be taken off the list and will have to reapply to qualify,” said Melissa Hobbs in the JP office.
