Pick-up dates for the May distribution of the commodity food program are expected to take place as scheduled, on May 7 and 8 using the same outdoor distribution protocols enacted last month so participants can more easily maintain proper social distancing.

The Albany distribution will once again take place outside of the building.

“We will set the bags out back on a table,” said Melissa Hobbs at the Justice of the Peace office. “We are relying on the integrity and honesty of people to only take their bag.”

The Moran distribution will take place outside of Moran City Hall as usual.

“This month the commodity bags will again only have canned and dry goods,” Hobbs said. “Hopefully in June we can get back to including some perishable items.”

Hobbs added that anyone who needs to be certified must do so by Tuesday, May 5 to be eligible for the May distribution.

On Thursday, May 7, certified eligible families in Moran should pick up their monthly commodity food at Moran City Hall between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Albany families who have been certified eligible for the monthly food distribution program can pick up their commodity food Friday, May 8 outside the rear door of the JP office (the former county jail) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
