Commodities to be distributed

Pick-up dates for the November distribution of the commodity food program will be today, Thursday, Nov. 5 and tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 6.

Certified eligible families in Moran should pick up their monthly commodity food at the Moran City Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. this morning. 

Albany families who have been certified as eligible for the November food distribution program may pick up their food tomorrow, Nov. 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the rear door of the JP office. 

Families who picked up their commodities last month will also be able to receive an additional “Thanksgiving Bag.” 

Certified eligible families who did not pick up their food in October will still receive a commodity bag, but will not be eligible to receive the additional Thanksgiving Bag, according to Melissa Hobbs with the Shackelford County Justice of the Peace office. The Thanksgiving bag is in addition to the regular November commodities.

Recipients who are unable to pick up their commodities in person can send a signed and dated note with someone to pick up the food for them.
