Pick-up dates for the January distribution of the commodity food program are set for today (Thursday) in Moran and tomorrow for Albany recipients.

The monthly food program will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Moran City Hall today, and again Friday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. in Albany at the Justice of the Peace office on the courthouse square.

All current participants were sent an application form for the 2022 program that must be completed and returned in order to be certified as qualifying for the program during the coming year.

The application forms must be completed at the beginning of each calendar year, and recipients must meet the program guidelines to qualify to received the free products.

“We sent applications for 2022 in the boxes that were distributed in December,” justice of the peace James Breeden said. “Everyone has to be recertified at the beginning of each year.”

Forms will be available at both distribution locations. New applicants are always welcome to complete a form to determine if they are eligible.

The applications provide the opportunity for participants to provide any change in address or contact information, as well as the verifying annual income.

Regular recipients who are unable to pick up their usual commodity allotments can send someone else to pick up the food as long as they send a signed and dated noted naming who will be collecting the products for them.
