Quilt owners are encouraged to lend one or more of the works of art in their collections to the Albany Study Club for the annual quilt show at the Whitney Theatre so everyone can admire the fabric treasures during the Fandangle season.

The annual show is free to the public and will be held in the air-conditioned  Whitney Theatre from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the afternoons of the Fandangle performances on June 18, 19, 25, and 26.

Anyone interested in sharing a quilt or handmade piece for the show may bring it to the Shackelford County Library by June 11.

The submission will need to be left in a plastic bag with a completed registration card. Exhibitors are encouraged to share any information known about the piece being entered.

Submissions can be of any age or design and do not have to be made by the owner or exhibitor.

On or after June 29, owners can pick up their pieces at the library during normal library hours.

Quilt Raffle

The club is also selling raffle tickets for a quilt made by Sandi Conway and quilted by Amy Folsom.

Tickets cost $5 each or six tickets for $20 and can be purchased from any Study Club member or at the library.

The club will draw for the winner of the quilt at the Fandangle performance on June 26. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.

Proceeds from the raffle fund two $400 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors.

The quilt raffle is the only project besides the club’s cookbook sales that funds the scholarships, and this is the first raffle held in two years.
