Closet Angels plans BTS Bash

Organizers at Closet Angels are planning a Back to School Bash on Thursday, July 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“We are so excited to be able to continue hosting this event,” director Lori Reames said. “We had a great turnout back in 2019, with lots of door prizes. We are hoping to attract even more families this year.”

Families have the opportunity to win multiple prizes during the event.

First Financial Bank is providing hot dogs and gift cards, and Bethel Assembly will give Walmart gift cards for school supplies.

“One thing we would like to emphasize is that you do not have to be low-income to shop with us,” Reames said. “Parents are encouraged to shop for themselves while they are there, but shoppers are asked to limit each person to two pairs of jeans, five tops, and one pair of athletic shoes to allow more students to be blessed.”

Families that would like to enter any drawings can sign up at the front desk at Closet Angels, and drawings will take place on the back patio.

Applications for school supplies through the Resource Center will also be available at the front desk.

The ministry is still looking for volunteers to donate door prizes, according to Reames.

These can include, but are not limited to, groceries, gas, clothing, restaurant gift cards, and basic need items.

Reames said any business owners who would like to donate door prizes can call her at 325-721-8620 to arrange pickup.

Those attending the event are asked to either park in front of Closet Angels or across the street to ensure public safety.

The ministry is open every Monday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on second Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
