Closet Angels, NIN still closed
By Sandy Morris
The post-holiday coronavirus surge is still affecting many people and local businesses and organizations, including Closet Angels and Neighbors in Need.
Both organizations are available to help local residents when they need a helping hand, but hours and procedures have been changed for the safety of shoppers and volunteers.
Closet Angels’ director Lori Reames said that they had hoped to reopen for donations this past Monday, Jan. 25.
“We have decided not to accept or process any donations for a few more weeks,” said Reames. “Our tentative date to begin to accept donations will be Monday, Feb. 8.
The blue donation bin by Closet Angels will continue to be taped closed to prevent any donations during this time.
Closet Angels and Neighbors in Need both will be open by appointment only until further notice.
“We will take appointments on Mondays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.,” said Reames.
Reames said that if both organizations can reopen as planned, they will need volunteers.
“We especially need people who can move or haul furniture,” said Reames. “We have one individual who is trying to do this alone, and we simply need more help.”
Reames said people can contact her for either Closet Angels or Neighbors in Need and she will make arrangements for assistance.
In order to contact Reames for assistance, call or text her cell phone at 325-721-8620.
