Closet Angels has rescheduled its annual Back To School Bash for 5:00-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Closet Angels director Lori Reames said she originally planned to hold the event before the state’s tax-free weekend, but postponed it to avoid conflicting with other local events.

“We have changed things up because most of our help cannot get too hot,” Reames said. “We’re not going to do hot dogs, and we’re going to simplify things. We’re short on help right now.”

The mission will be closed Monday, Aug. 7 in preparation for the sale.

“We want to have the most clothes available for Back To School Bash,” Reames said. “We don’t want it to be picked over.”

Reames said door prizes will be drawn at 6:00 p.m. Customers are asked to enter through the front door and fill out an entry form to be entered for the drawing.

“We’re looking to collect any kind of door prizes or cash prizes,” she said. “As we draw names, we’ll let winners choose what they want so they don’t get stuck with something they don’t need. They’ll get to choose in the order their name is drawn.”

Suggested items for prizes include gift cards for local businesses and online gift certificates.

“Anything that will help with back-to-school,” Reames said. “I will be out and about soliciting door prizes.”

Reames said customers are encouraged to continue shopping during the drawing, but do not need to be present to win.
