Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar released August state sales tax revenue amounts for counties across the state of Texas, including Shackelford County.

The City of Albany will receive a sales tax allotment of $41,015 from the state this month. The amount is down 2.04 percent from the $41,872 payment received this time last year.

Payments to date for the 2020 year to the City of Albany are $313,393 down by 16.61 percent from the comparable time last year, when payments of $375,843 had been made.

The City of Moran will receive a net payment of $2,030 this period for a 34.07 percent increase from the $1,514 received in August 2019.

Payments to date for the 2020 year to the City of Moran are $15,041 up 32.50 percent from the comparable time in 2019 when payments of $11,351 had been made.

Over the entire state of Texas, tax allocations are up 3.6 percent from the August 2019 net payment.

Texas collected the following revenue from other major taxes, motor vehicle sales and rental taxes, motor fuel taxes, natural gas production tax, oil production tax, and hotel occupancy tax.

Allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in April, May, and June by quarterly filers.
