Churches set holiday dates

Local churches are making plans for Christmas services and programs as the holiday draws near.

With Christmas on a Sunday for the first time since 2016, several local congregations are making plans for their celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Plans for many traditional events had not been finalized at press time but will be publicized as information is received.

Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran began Wednesday Advent Services on Nov. 30 and will continue the special services on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14.

A light supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. with the service to start at 7:00 p.m.

A Christmas Eve children’s program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.

A Christmas Morning Divine Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25.

First Baptist

The First Baptist Women’s Christmas Gathering is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 in the Fellowship Hall.

Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist will have a 10:00 a.m. Christmas Day service, but will not have Sunday School that day.

Pastor Paul Johnston said a decision is pending on whether Friendship will have a Children’s Christmas play.
