Albany churches will conduct Ash Wednesday services Wednesday, March 2, to begin Lent, which continues until Thursday, April 14.

Albany United Methodist Church will participate in “A Night With New Room” at 6:30 p.m. on Ash Wednesday. The livestream program can be viewed at the church or online at www.newroom conference.com.

The service is a preparation event for the church’s Lenten Study, a 40-day devotional for Lent which begins Sunday, March 7.

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. Over the next five Wednesdays, the church will serve a light meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by Lenten services at 6:30 p.m.

The Lutheran congregation will host Maundy Thursday (April 14) and Good Friday (April 15) services at 6:30 p.m. each evening.

Trinity Lutheran will conduct two Easter services on Sunday, April 17. A sunrise service at the Lutheran Cemetery will be followed by a breakfast at 9:30 a.m. at the church. The second service will start at 10:30 a.m.
