The Chris Knight concert set for last Saturday at the Aztec Theater was postponed by the artist due to weather conditions.

The event, which was part of the singer/songwriter series offered by Albany Live, has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 11, with the same tickets still valid for the later show, or a complete refund is also available through the website where tickets were purchased.

“Chris had to cancel because of weather,” Trey Davis, committee member for Albany Live, said. “He had to come from western Kentucky, and there were bad conditions all the way between here and there.”

The performance was the second in a series sponsored by Albany Live, a nonprofit organized last year to bring live musical events to Albany.

Tickets for all of the groups’ upcoming performances are available on the group’s website: www.albanylive.org. Prices are $50 for general admission and $75 for reserved seating in the front two rows.

Davis reported that the next show on Saturday, Feb. 19 with Shane Smith and the Saints has already sold out.

A total of 286 tickets are available for each performance, with front two rows of each show sold as reserved seating and the remaining available as general admission.

Tickets are already on sale on the website for the Paul Cauthen concert on March 10.

Other upcoming concerts include Radney Roster on April 29, although tickets are not yet available on the website.

“We are really hoping to get this going for the Aztec and for Albany,” he said. “We think this can be really good for the downtown stores and restaurants, so we are working on coordinating with them more. Maybe they can stay open longer prior to each concert to give people a chance to shop locally.”
