Children’s Sabbath to be observed

First Christian Church of Albany will celebrate Children’s Sabbath during 11:00 a.m. services on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Children’s Sabbath is an international, nondenominational event focused on the plight of children in this world, according to pastor Brad McBee.

“The scripture for the day comes from Luke 9:46-48 as we remember Jesus who took a little child and had him stand beside Him,” McBee said. “Then He said to His disciples, ‘Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest’.”

As part of the service, the church will kick off this year’s Operation Christmas Child shoebox project.
