Moran residents still have a week to contact organizer Michelle Taggart and sign up to include their location in the annual Moran city-wide garage sale.

The sale will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, but participating sites should be turned in to Taggart by 10:00 a.m. next Friday, Sept. 6.

“This will give me time to get maps and lists printed,” she said. “If you are interested in getting on the list, please let me know. As always, there is no cost to join.”

To register a sale, contact Taggart at 325-513-5398.

Children’s Paint Party

The next children’s painting party will be on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moran Community Center, and the theme for the day will be ladybugs.

Participants can paint either a blank canvas or can have a ladybug outline pre-drawn for them by contacting organizer Tiffany Waddell.

“We will have snacks, food (pizza), and drinks available,” said Waddell. “Everything is free, and special needs children are welcome. If your child plans to attend, please let me know in advance so I can make sure to have enough for everyone.”

The first of the new monthly painting parties for children of all ages was held this past July after Waddell decided to organize the events for her son.

“My five-year old is a special needs child and he loves to paint,” Waddell said. “His brothers are excellent in sports, and I want him to be able to excel in something he likes.”
