The spring health fair hosted by Shackelford County ResourceCare returns to the Albany Bank Park on Friday, May 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. after missing last year due to COVID concerns.

The event, for which this is the 18th year, is often held on the Friday closest to Cinco de Mayo, but because of numerous conflicts with school and other events, including test preparations, it was moved to this coming Friday morning.

ResourceCare program director Mindy Ary said approximately 20 different agencies, most of them related to the health care field, are expected to attend the health fair for Albany and Moran elementary students.

The students will be bused at various times during the morning to the Bank Park.

“We will have face painting, snow cones, popcorn, and booth games throughout the morning,” said Ary.

She added that the Albany Volunteer Fire Department is also providing a bounce house for the participants.

The health fair will include representatives from local and area non-profit agencies, and Albany High School will provide volunteers to help younger students with the various activities.
