Young girls interested in learning about cheerleading and dance routines still have time to join the 2018 Cheer Camp.

The three day camp will take place at the Albany High School gym from Monday, July 30 through Wednesday, Aug. 1, and is for girls from three years of age all the way through elementary school.

Campers will meet for two hours each evening, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.

The Albany Lion mascot and varsity and junior high cheerleaders will instruct the campers.

The participants will be invited to perform at the Albany Athletic Booster Club’s annual Ice Cream Supper on Aug. 13.

“It is looking like we will have a really good turnout,” said new varsity cheerleader sponsor Lindsey Vaughn. “We already have around 20 signed up, and we will still accept girls at the door.”

Registration is $40 per child.

“I think that the change in schedule, to an evening program, has helped make it easier for parents to be able to bring their daughters to the camp,” said Vaughn.

Registration forms are available at Brookshire’s, Dairy Queen, Prairie Star, First Love Day Care, and the City Pool. Checks should be made payable to “Albany Cheer.”
