Chamber to sponsor drawings

Starting today, most downtown merchants are again handing out entry forms for a Valentine drawing, with the winners receiving a $50 gift certificate for one of the participating businesses.

The drawings will be held on Feb. 14.

Shoppers will be given one entry form by each participating store for each $10 in purchases made.

The completed forms can be placed in drawing boxes at any of the stores. All forms will be collected by the Chamber and combinedpriortothedrawings.

“We will put all the entry slips into one big pot and then draw for store-specific gift certificates,” Lehew said.

Businesses participating include Buds ForYou, Sassifrass, Southern Comfort, Vintage Vanilla, Erline’s, Rustic Charm, Me and Mrs. Jones, Blanton Caldwell Trading Co., and Albany Wellness.

Annual Meeting

The annual membership meetingoftheAlbanyChamber of Commerce is scheduled for the Friday, Feb. 16 luncheon at the Icehouse Restaurant starting at 12:00 noon.

Chamber directors whose termshaveexpiredwillbeupfor re-election, followed by the election of officers for the next year.
