Chamber seeking entries for Lighted Christmas Parade
Entries are being sought for the 2025 Lighted Christmas Parade set to roll through downtown Albany on Saturday, Nov. 30 starting at 6:00 p.m.
The annual event is sponsored by the Albany Chamber of Commerce.
Shop Small Town Saturday activities are also planned, with drawings for Albany Bucks at various times both before and after the parade.
Chamber manager Brandi Lehew said that parade entry forms are available online on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
“We don’t have any paper forms, but we tried to make it easy to sign up online, and we can help people enter if they need assistance,” Lehew said. “We are really hoping to have a lot of entries in the parade again this year. We had a great turnout last year, and we just want it to keep growing.”
Lehew said any type of lighted entry is welcome, including cars, golf carts, ATVs, trailers, tractors, lawn mowers, and horse-drawn vehicles.
Advance registration is preferred, but late entries will be accepted.
“If people who have company in for Thanksgiving decide they want to enter, they are more than welcome,” Lehew said. “It will help to let us know as soon as possible after Thanksgiving so we can get the names to the announcer.”
Santa will be making an appearance at the Bank Park prior to the parade and will also ride in the parade.
Lehew said local merchants are planning to start handing out tickets Nov. 15 for the drawings that are traditionally held both before and after the parade. Shoppers will receive one ticket to enter the drawing for each $10 spent from participating merchants.
