Chamber promotes memberships

The Albany Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Membership Drive Crawfish Boil at the Depot Thursday, April 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“All Chamber members are invited,” Chamber executive secretary Mary Beth Jones said. “This is an appreciation event for all current members.”
A check-in table will be set up in the parking lot at the Chamber office for anyone who wants to renew a membership or join.
Attendees will be able to sign up for drawings to specific stores that can be redeemed for an additional $50 of credit once $25 is purchased.
One coupon deal will be available from each of the participating merchants.
Membership prices are $50 for a senior citizen or senior citizen family, $60 for an individual or a family, as well as $125, $150, or $175 for businesses based on the number of employees. Corporate memberships are $300.
There are also $35 memberships for non-profit organizations.
“Those who aren’t members are welcome to come and join at the party, or they can drop by before the event to obtain a membership,” Jones said. “We will be set up to take cash, cards, or checks, and feel free to bring a friend who might want to join.”
The menu for the event will feature crawfish, fish, and all the fixings. Water will be provided.
“Our job as a Commerce of Commerce is to bring people into Albany to shop, eat, tour, hunt, and possibly live or open a business here,” she said. “We host events throughout the year that puts money into our economy, which goes back into making this a great place to live.”
Reservations are not required.
“If we run out of something, we will just fry up some more fish or chicken,” Jones said.
New “Home of the Hereford” tumblers will be available for members to purchase.
