Chamber plans to let the good times boil!

Preparations for theAlbany Chamber of Commerce Membership Craw fish Boiland Fish Fryare underway, with the party set for next Thursday, April 11 for all members.

“We didn’t know if we could get many crawfish this year since there is a shortage this season,” Chamber manager Brandi Lehew said. “But our cooking crew has been able to get 100 pounds, so we can call it a Crawfish Boil again. We will still have some shrimp to boil, along with fried fish.”

Lehew said that whatever the main course ends up being, there will still be plenty of food.

The membership party will be held in the front parking lot at the Chamber building starting at 6:30 p.m.

“We have a back-up of moving to the Feed Store if there is bad weather,” she said. “We are hoping for our biggest crowd yet.”

She said that the response to membership letters this year has been good.

“We have had a much bigger response this year to our membership letters that went out in January,” she said. “We encourage all members to come join the fun.” Lehewadded that memberships can be renewed at the dinner, and new memberships are always welcome.

“You can still pay dues when you arrive, and we will be taking new memberships as well,” she said.

The Chamber has several levels of membership dues including $50 per year for retired citizens and $60 for other individuals and families.

There are four levels of membership for businesses based on the number of employees, ranging from $125 to $300 and a $35 fee for non-profits.

The manager confirmed that the Happy Grill food truck will again be supplying homemade onion rings, and she expects that the Green Gypsy beverage trailer will be providing cold drinks as well.

“It is still a week away, but the weather looks like it will be good,” she said. “If not, we will move to the Feed Store. We just want everyone to come join us for the food and the fun.”
