The Albany Chamber of Commerce put the wraps on a successful holiday season this week.

Decorating Contest

A new event sponsored by the Chamber this year was the Holiday House Decorating Contest.

Local residents who decorated the outside of their homes for the holidays entered their creations in the contest or were nominated by friends or neighbors.

Albany Chamber of Commerce director Mary Beth Jones announced the winners for the most “Beautiful” home and the most “Creative” home live on Facebook on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Results were not available at press time.

Memorial Ornaments

For the third year in a row, the Chamber has sponsored a memorial Christmas tree and offered ornaments to the public to be placed in memory of loved ones.

Ornaments may be purchased  through Wednesday, Dec. 23 and will be hung on the tree which can be seen in the gazebo on the Courthouse lawn.

Citizens who purchase ornaments are reminded they may remove and take home their ornaments after Jan. 1.

Chamber Luncheons

There will be no Chamber lunches for the next two Fridays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, because of the holidays.

The first Chamber luncheon of 2021 is set for Friday, Jan. 8 at the Beehive.

Chamber luncheons are held each Friday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. and are open to anyone who would like to get involved and help with the various Chamber projects throughout the year.
