The Albany Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual business meeting at noon Friday, Feb. 3 at the Beehive.

Chamber officer Lisa Barton said board elections will be held in addition to discussing other business.

“We’re not sure yet if all the directors are willing to stay on or if some will retire,” Barton said.

Board members serve overlapping three-year terms. Once the board election by the general Chamber membership is completed, the directors will meet to elect officers.

Barton said the Chamber has begun planning its annual Membership Appreciation Crawfish Boil.

“We intend to have the Crawfish Boil this spring,” she said. “The committee will set a date for that, probably in March or April.”

Barton said the search for a new Chamber manager to succeed Mary Beth Jones, who stepped down a few months ago, is moving forward.

“We have narrowed down to a final person for the position,” she said. “As soon as contact is made and we get a reply, we’ll have an announcement. We’re hoping it will be completed by the end of the month.”
