The Bulldogs are getting geared up to play at home against Rotan this Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Moran Independent School District athletic director John Hughes said the team has a big test against 2-0 Rotan, but the guys have improved each week and are ready to compete.

Last week, after Evant school district learned of positive COVID-19 cases, that game was cancelled and Moran picked up a game in Santa Anna, where the Bulldogs came up short 35-74.

The junior high team played its first game in Rotan on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Lady Bulldogs

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Newcastle in volleyball on Saturday, Sept. 5, losing in four sets, 17-25, 25-22, 15-25, and 7-25.

Coach Jo Hise said the Newscastle game was one of the better games the girls have played.

“We are becoming more comfortable with our rotation,” Hise said.

She added that Emily Murk had some big blocks to help Moran rally back, and Allie Scott served seven points in the second set.

Murk also served five points in the second set, including three aces.

“I am proud of how the team fought for each point and hustled through all four sets,” Hise reported.

The Lady Bulldogs varsity and junior high played in Albany on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and the varsity will host Hawley on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 11:00 a.m.
