Blood donors reminded of time change

Local blood donors are reminded that today’s blood drive is set for a new time from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including the lunch hour.

Scheduled for roughly eight-week intervals, this year’s remaining blood drives areAug. 1, Sept. 26, and Dec. 5.

Thetimechangewillapply to all upcoming events.

The blood center depends on volunteer blood donors to supply 100 percent of the blood that is used for patient care at 17 area hospitals.

Members of the Albany Kiwanis Club, which sponsors the program, urge community members to donatebloodtohelpensure that patients in the hospitals served have a supply of blood ready and waiting when an emergency occurs.
