Local beef producers have an opportunity to learn how to better manage wildlife and hunting on their land Friday, Jan. 13 as Shackelford County extension agent Kelsey Bell hosts a continuing education program at the Courthouse.

Registration for Managing Wildlife as a Beef Producer begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Shackelford County courtroom on the second floor of the Courthouse. Registration is $20 per person. Bell said no RSVP is required.

The program, which will have five speakers, will offer one general CEU credit and one Integrated Pest Management CEU credit.

Refreshments will be provided by the Lower Clear Fork of the Brazos Soil and Water Conservation Board.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a presentation by Tamara Trail. Attorney Kelly Gill will speak at 9:30 a.m., followed by ranchers Rick Hanson at 10:00 a.m. and Wade Montgomery at 10:30 a.m. Former Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologist Annaliese Scoggin, who now ranches in Taylor County, concludes the program at 11:00 a.m.
