Band Boosters sale slated Feb. 27

The Albany Band Boosters will hold a garage sale and bake sale at Friendship Baptist Church from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.

All money raised will go towards junior high and high school band trips, as well as improvements to the elementary band hall.

Band Booster member Kelli Kreitler said donations of items for the garage sale are welcome from the public. 

“Arrangements can be made to have items picked up by contacting a high school band member,” said Kreitler. “People also can drop off their donations at Friendship Baptist Church between 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.”

Solo & Ensemble

Senior musician Sidney Bartee will be competing at the UIL Region 6 East Zone Band Solo and Ensemble competition at Abilene Wylie High School on Saturday, Feb. 27. 

AISD band director Will Vaughan said that Bartee will be playing Nocturno on the tuba and will be accompanied by Sandy Abel on the piano.

If Bartee earns a Division 1 rating, she will advance to the state level.
