The Aztec Theater is hosting a night of music performed by local residents entitled “Seasons of Love” on Saturday, Nov. 19, with all proceeds benefiting the venue.

Tickets will only be available at the door for $15, payable by cash or check. Credit cards will not be accepted.

The show will start at 7:30 p.m. with Pam Davis narrating.

Organizer Sandy Abel said about a dozen local singers – most of whom have participated in previous fundraising events – will sing a variety of songs with a love theme.

“There are all kinds of songs about love,” Abel said. “It won’t all be romantic love. There will be some songs about good love and some not so good.”

Abel added that the range of music is broad.

“The songs range from Frank Sinatra to Taylor Swift to the Zombies and the Eagles,” she said. “There will something for everyone with a little rock-n-roll, some country, and a lot of pop.”

She added that the goal is for the audience to have a good time and even sing along.

Last year, the group presented a show of singer-songwriter music, which was very well received.

“This group of performers has become a family over the years – a musical family,” Abel said. “These concerts are really important to them as a way to reach out to the community and be creative.”

The singers will be accompanied by Abel, along with members of the band including John Caldwell, Randall Palmore, George Harvick, Keith Kniffen, and Zach Harmon. Several members of the band will also sing during the performance.

Singers this year include Ginny Ivy, Kirstin Hilliard, Kayla McCauley, Carley Price, Brittney Harmon, Lorna Ayers, Kaisley Bartee, Mimi Ivy, Megan Ledbetter, and Dally and Ayers Bezner.

Working the lights will be Jenny Scott, with Russell Caney at the sound board.
