Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church’s fundraising efforts for its summer mission trip to Belize will continue with three items up for bid following the concert and auction held at the Aztec Theater.

“The worship concert and auction went well,” MMPC youth minister Becky Wills said. “We had a good turnout and raised a good amount of money.”

Items still available are a live trophy Longhorn steer, a three-hour helicopter hunt for six with a two-night stay at the historic missile base, and four front-row box seats to this year’s Fort Griffin Fandangle.

The steer and hunt carry minimum bids of $5,000. Minimum bid for the Fandangle tickets is $60.

The steer is being donated by Jamie Nail. The helicopter package is courtesy of S2 Helicopter Services and CSI Insurance. The Fandangle tickets are donated by the Cotter family.

Wills said the items can be bid on in a variety of ways.

“We’re going to auction them off in a kind of telethon through email and telephone,” she said. “We also have a bidding form that I have a QR code for.”

Bids by email should be sent to tamtrail@gmail.com with the subject Mission Trip Fundraiser. Deadline for email bids is 11:59 p.m., Thursday, April 27.

The telethon and online portions of the auction will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 1. Telephone bids will not be accepted before then.

To bid on the steer, call or text Wills at 325-669-9804. To bid on the hunt package, call or text Tammy Clark at 325-668-0677. For the Fandangle seats, call or text Megan Brown at 325-451-0505.

The mission trip to Belize is set for July 7-14.
