Twenty-nine sale sites took part in the 26th Annual Community Wide Garage Sale last Saturday, Sept. 14, and many locations reported that they did really well, while others did not, according to Chamber of Commerce manager Mary Beth Jones.

“Around 75 maps were picked up,” Jones said. “Although I don’t know why some sales didn’t do as well, it does seem like location may have made a difference.”

Jones said from what she heard, sales located on Main Street may have been better attended than those located off of the beaten path.

One of the sales located just off of Highway 180, the class of 2020’s Project Graduation fundraiser went very well, according to organizer Tammy Clark.

“We had a lot of things, including shoes, clothes, books, and home decor, as well as a bake sale,” said Clark. “We had a really good sale and raised around $1,500. A lot of folks donated back their change, and that helped our total.”

Return Signs

The yard signs should be returned to the Depot by today, Sept. 19.

The Chamber office is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon, and from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.

Ten dollars of the registration fee will be refunded upon request when the sign is returned.

“I’ll be trying to figure out additional ways that we can help improve sales throughout all of Albany next year,” said Jones.
