The Albany Academic Booster Club is once again inviting the community to “adopt” a member of the school staff through its Christmas Wish List program.

Sponsored by the “Rise and Shine” committee, the event enables local residents who want to participate to access wish lists that teachers and staff have been asked to make of items they would like to have for their classrooms or offices.

A number of wish lists by staff members from both campuses are posted on a “SignUpGenius.com” account for the public to select gifts for specific teachers.

The staff was asked to list two or three items with a maximum value of $50 to be placed on the website.

A link to the SignUp Genius account is located on the Albany Academic Booster Club’s Facebook page.

“There are still several teachers who have not submitted lists to me, but I will update those as soon I get them,” project chair Audrey Peterson said. “We have gone live with the link, so hopefully we can get all of the lists sent in soon.”

Parents and community members who participate are asked to deliver the items or gift cards to the respective school office no later than Monday, Dec. 19.

“This is a great opportunity to encourage and support teachers and staff members who educate our children,” Peterson said.

This is the fourth year that the committee has sponsored the program.

Teachers and staff at both campuses have been asked to participate, along other support staff.
