Albany ISD students will observe a holiday on Monday, Feb. 20 for President’s Day.

Staff members will still report for work on Monday for a staff development day.

Spring break is scheduled for the week of March 13-17, with regular dismal times on Friday, March 10. Classes will resume on Monday, March 20 at the normal times.

So far, the two days designated as “bad weather days” on April 7 and April 10 are still scheduled.

The holidays are in observance of Good Friday and the Monday following Easter.

The district cancelled classes on three days earlier this month due to concerns for ice. Normally, two of those days would have been recovered by using the “bad weather days.”

However, superintendent Jonathan Scott said in an email to district staff last week that the district had banked enough “minutes” to cover the three-day closure. Therefore, the “bad weather days” will not have to be used.

If there are any more “bad weather” cancellations, then the district will have to use one or both of the days designated for the Easter break.
