AISD staff to start next week

The Albany ISD teachers, staff, and school board will attend a district luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the Nancy Smith cafeteria.

In the morning, staff members will go to their separate campuses before meeting together at noon for the meal.

After lunch, there will be a presentation of recognitions to honor individuals who retired last year and to acknowledge the service of current staff members, according to superintendent Jonathan Scott.

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, all staff will participate in a professional development day on the secondary campus.

On Monday, Aug. 16, the faculty and support staff will have another professional development day, and Aug. 17 is a teacher workday to prepare for the first day of school.

The first bell will ring at 7:50 a.m., and classes will start at 7:55 a.m. at Nancy Smith, just as they did last fall. 

On the secondary campus, classes will start at 8:00 a.m.
