Albany ISD’s annual “Meet the Teacher” night and new student orientation are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 16.

Meet the Teacher

“Meet the Teacher” will begin at 5:00 p.m. for Head Start and pre-K through second grade students, while third through sixth grade will meet at 5:30 p.m.

Teachers will be in their rooms at the stated times.

Parents with students in multiple grade levels should split up and attend separate sessions if they occur at the same time.

Lists will be posted of students assigned to each classroom for the 2021-2022 school year for parents who have not yet received specific information, although most teachers plan to contact as many parents as they can prior to that time.

Students are also invited to attend the event with their parents.

Any questions can be directed to the Nancy Smith office by calling 325-762-3384.

Student Orientation

The annual new student orientation for junior high and high school students will occur after “Meet the Teacher” on the secondary campus from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

According to principal Glen Hill, the event will be conducted in tandem with the annual open house for students and parents.

Those present will receive information about policy changes and procedures already in effect at the secondary campus.

All secondary students new to the district are encouraged to attend, as  well as those who want to meet the new teachers and staff.

More information about “Meet the Teacher”  and new student orientation is available in the Back to School section provided in this week’s Albany News.

Parents or students with questions can call the high school at 325-762-3974.
