With activities such as the Christmas band concert, elementary parties, and semester finals bringing the first semester to an end, Albany ISD students and staff are now in the midst of a two-week Christmas break.

Students at both campuses will be back in class on Tuesday, Jan. 5 to start the second semester and the fourth sixth weeks of the 2020-2021 school year.

Teachers return earlier for a staff development day at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.

Classes will begin at the usual times on both campuses, with the tardy bell ringing at 7:55 a.m. for elementary students and 8:00 a.m. for the secondary campus.

The next scheduled break in the AISD school year will be on Monday, Jan. 18 for MLK Day, followed by a student holiday and staff comp day later the same week for the county livestock show on Friday, Jan. 22.

A student holiday and staff development day will take place in February on Monday, Feb. 15 for Presidents Day.

AISD will close over spring break, March 15-19.

There is a holiday on Good Friday, April 2, and students are scheduled to be off on Monday, April 5.

The spring semester ends at noon on Thursday, May 27 and graduation is set for Friday, May 28.
