The Albany High School One Act Play (OAP) has been cast, and students have been rehearsing since Jan. 11, according to director Jenny Scott.

“The play we chose this year is ‘The Love of Three Oranges,’ by Hillary DePaino,” said Scott. “The setting is a fairy-tale kingdom in the imaginary present.”

The cast and crew will be attending the yearly OAP festival in Clyde on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

District competition is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3 in Haskell at the new performing arts center.

As with other UIL events, the OAP has felt the impact of COVID this year.

“As of now, the UIL has stated that all casts will have to perform their plays while wearing masks,” Scott said.

The cast and crew of the show include William Webb – Narrator, Brooks Neece – Silvio, Caitlan Lee – Pantalone, Jaheim Newton – Leandro, Melissa Olivarez – Princess Clarice, Chelsy Parsons – Brighella, Tyler Chapman – Prince Tartaglia, Jackson Chapman – Truffaldineo, Tana Thompson – Smeraldina, Hannah Trail – Fata Morgana, Sidney Bartee – a gate, Briley Tabor – a donkey and a mute country bumpkin, Chey’anne Weaver – Creonta, Ella Webb – Princess Ninetta, Cydney Nelson – Princess Nicoletta, Lizzie Chavez – Princess Linetta and Jaci Chapman – Musician.

Crew members include Bartee, who is the stage manager, Presley Green as the lights technician, and sound technician Avery Kleiner.
