After meeting in closed session for more than a hour to review five applications, members of the Shackelford County Hospital District’s board of directors decided to schedule interviews to fill the post of SCHD administrator.

There was no official action taken, but board president Jo Ann Estridge said Tuesday that they will begin interviewing the applicants as soon as possible.

There has not been an administrator since Jera Fairley left several months ago.

Also discussed in closed session were Christmas bonuses for the EMS, clinic, and district staff, which were given in varying amounts depending on length of employment, full-time vs. part-time, etc., said Estridge. Those were approved on a formal vote when the meeting was reopened to the public.

Other Business

•The board considered the appointment of Shana Loftis as nurse manager at the clinic, but no action was taken because the item was not on the agenda.

Three computers will be ordered after Jan. 1 to replace older EMS units that are beginning to have problems.
