ABC recruits new basketball officials
The Abilene Basketball Chapter (ABC) is actively recruiting new officials for the upcoming 2020-2021 junior high and high school basketball season.
Training is available to all new ABC chapter members and help for uniforms will be provided by current ABC members.
ABC dues are $35 for new members and $70 for veteran officials. All officials are required to register with the Texas High School Basketball Officials Association (THSBOA) for $50.
Individuals who have officiated youth leagues in or around the Abilene area are highly encouraged to join the chapter to ensure proper training techniques, as well as maintaining updates on the current basketball rules.
Members will be able to set their officiating schedule while having the chance to earn anywhere from $40 to $50 hourly.
Training for all new ABC members will start at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Wylie West Junior High, located at 4134 Beltway South (FM 707). The first general meeting for the chapter will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Wylie West Junior High.
